Group policy for seperate users.

    Question

  • Hello.

I want my staff to not be able to access the C: drive and some of the control panel. BUT... I want the admins to have access to everything. Is there a way to do this???

    Any help would be apreciated.

    Thanks.

  • No problem, just apply a different policy to admin accounts.

  • If you are running AD:

admins go in a separate OU than users.

Apply group policy differently for each OU.

BTW: For each your questions you are going to have to start posting the OS and the functional level of the domain to get the best answer and to make it easier for people to answer.

  • Ok, how do i do this, when i open GPEDIT.msc, it opens local group policy, i know how to open it for my windows 7 pc and my xp laptop remotely, but how do i apply it only to staff.  I have a user folder called staff (in the active directory users and groups) and a folder (by default) called users.

  • You should open the Group policy management console that are included in rsat: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7887
