Automated way to enable Reliability Monitor.

    Question

  • Guys, good morning.

    I would like to configure
through GPO the Reliability Monitor on all my servers WS2008 and WS2008R2. I tried to find some reference on the internet, but without success.

Following the procedurebelow, I canget it to work manually in parallel with the change in a registry key.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766393(v=WS.10).aspx

    Registry keyto be modified:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ReliabilityAnalysis\WMI\WMIEnable

Has anyone done this setup automated way?Could you help me?

    Thanks
    Victor.

  • Hi, Goce.

Only turn on this item is sufficient? I think the RACAgent need to be enabled on Schedule Tasks too. I did some tests and when the RACAgent not enabled, the reliability monitor doesn't populate the grapfic.

To enable the RACAgent scheduled task

    1. Click Start, click in the Start Search box, type taskschd.msc, and then press ENTER.

    2. In the navigation pane, expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, and click RAC.

    3. Right-click RAC, click View, and click Show Hidden Tasks.

    4. Click RACAgent in the results pane.

      noteNote
The RACAgent task name may not be completely visible. If you cannot locate it, expand the Name column in the results pane.

On the Action menu, click Enable.

    Thanks
    Victor.

  • "configure reliability wmi providers" policy will apply only to NT 6.1 and up.
The following registry values are involved in this policy.

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Reliability Analysis\WMI!WMIEnable
