no attached physical disk icon in guest os

    Question

  • i have a crated a VM in server 2008 r2 and attached a physical disk to vm by making it offline and then adding it to scsi controller physical disk. now the problem is there is no i icon for the new attached physical disk when i double click on the my computer in VM,s OS. how to access this physical disk in VM.. please answer me as soon as possible.

  • Hi,

    If you only checked My Computer, you may have a look on Disk Management as if a physical disk is not partitioned and given a drive letter, it will not show in Explorer.

  • have you tried diskpart command to list disks?

    run below command on this VM through a command prompt and paste the output.

    DISKPART > list disk
