Driver store overloading on Server 2008

    Question

  • I have a Microsoft Server 2008 Standard SP2 and I have found that the c:\windows\system32\driver store\temp folder has amassed a collection of folders, not files that continues to grow daily past it's present state of 1,300,000 folders. As I am not familiar with the reason why it continues to grow exponetially daily, I was wondering if this "Temp" folder, like many other "Temp" folders, could be deleted.

Any ideas on addressing this issue would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Hello MK,

I believe not. But I recommend you to assign 45GB of disk space for system drive in windows server 2008.

If your server running with low disk space, here is the link for your reference C space creation
