Access client drives from Server

    Question

  • I have a requirement for a Windows RDP server to automatically copy files from client drives to the server while the RDP session is active.

It should not require the client to mount shares. Access should be via administrative shares.

Is there an easy way to make this happen? The activity should be server driven but possibly the client can be made to push replicate the files by Policy settings?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Hi,

If when the client connects the user allows their drives to be redirected, you could have a program/script running on the server that copies files to the server.  For example, to copy a file located on the root of the client's C drive you could have something like this execute during log on:

    copy \\tsclient\c\file.txt c:\files\%username%\file.txt

    -TP
