Error Message: the security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust rela

    Question

  • the security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship

I installed 2 server 2008 r2 member servers one works just fine the second one get the above error.  I can join it to the domain with no errors but when I go to log in I get the above error; domain\ or @domain

I have removed it from the domain deleteing all records of the server and readded it by a new name same error, moved it from behind the firewall, did the add remove again same error, reset the account through AD reset sucessful, log in same error looked at  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325850/en-us =The machine account password for the local machine could not be reset. The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. Took a look at this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee849847(WS.10).aspx There was another KB about adjusting setting using ADSI, those option where not there.

I know it can see the domain because I can add and remove it with no problem. I am stuck at this point.

Our DNS is ad intergrated and it can see the svr records.
