MAC ADDRESS FILTERING WITH WINDOWS SERVER 2008 r2

    Question

  • I'm very beginner to the Windows server 2008 r2. I need some tutorials how to achieve MAC ADDRESS FILTERING in windows server 2008 r2. I tried configuring it with DHCP server but i couldn't able to configure it. so kindly help me with some tutorials how to do MAC ADDRESS FILTERING.... i need tutorials for baby..thank you in advance.

  • 1- start - Administrative tools- DHCP consol

    2- right click in IPV4

    3- check box on Enable Allow List (and - or) Enable Deny List

    4- go to DHCP consol again and expand your scop - expand Filters -

    5- right Allow or Deny - New Filter - then add MAC address

    Since we are new to the Windows Server world then I’d suggest to first create a basic sample Windows network with following the guides in the link below:

    Once we set this environment up then we can set the MAC address filter on Windows Server 2008 R2 DHCP server with following the introductions that mentioned by Abdelhamid:

    i have lot of doubts sir... do i need DNS server for creating a DHCP server and steeps for both DNS server and DCHP server sir.. i need the steps right after installing the sever sir.. i it ll help me a lot sir. and i need steps to connect the client to the DHCP server

    I have some question here...

    in my dhcp console (IPV4 Properties) doesn't have Filter options... how I can get those options..

    my Server OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 SP2 DataCentre Edition.. 

    I hope someone can answer this... Thanks
