Group Policy settings to disable proxy server

  • Hello,

    I need to disable (turn off) proxy server on some Windows 2003/2008 servers. What is the group policy settings that permits this?

  • Ok, well you could accomplish this in a number if ways... If you create a gpo and set look pack processing then apply itto the computers you could configure ie to use a false proxy server. Just put anything in the proxy address in the Gpo and it will make ie try and us that proxy which will fail resulting in no internet. You would want to lock down the changing of proxy server settings too so that someone doesn't just remove them. I can give you specific settings in the morning (uk time) as I'm on my ipad at the minute so don't have access to a gpo console. Let me know how you get on.
