Longhorn beta3 DHCPv6 scope prefix

    Question

  • Question regarding DHCPv6 scope definition: is there a way to specify something other than a /64 prefix when defining scopes?  I can specify /80 and /96 prefixes using dhcp6s.conf on a Fedora Core 6 server and have a need to do the same thing with Windows.  Our network is very large and we have a need to map some information into the UID, or host, portion of the IP address to keep our routing summarization intact and keep the route tables as small as possible.  Anyone if or how this can be done?  Thanks - Rich

  • Longhorn Beta 3 supports only 64 prefix scope creation. You cannot create any scope with different prefixes.

    Thanks

  • Cool, thanks for the reply!  Any idea if other prefixes will be available in the final release?
