Windows Update Error code 80240440

    Question

  • Currently I'm running Server 2012 in VMWare Player with no issues except for the inability to download updates. While checking I get error message: 80240440. Not much on this error message so I'm a little stumped. I've tried two clean installs and same problem each time.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Here is the log:

  • The connection with the remote endpoint was terminated.

Looks like a connection Problem. Are you behind a Firewall?
