Windows IAS to Windows 2008 R2

    Question

  • Hi Guy,

This question should have been posted many times. Sorry if its a repect question.

Need some pointer to the migration, as i'm new to IAS.

I have 2 box running Windows 2003 SP4 with IAS services. No IAS manger was install. All i can see is the Client list from the IAS from the Administratives Tools.

But Server A also have CA services installed.

I also understand that in Win2008R2 is called as NPS, some of the site also saying to in-place the Win2000 box to win2003 then migrate to win2k8R2. But involve a high chance of failing and unable to return to the last stage of working IAS.

    My question is:

How do i migration the CA and IAS in the 2 box to Windows 2008 R2. It will still keep to 2 box for Win2008R2.

To migrate CA server/services, does the new box have to keep to the same Hostname of the old box?

How about the IP Address??? New box also have to be the same as the old box?

    Thanks
