  • Hello,

is that the only DNS server in the domain and do you use AD integrated zones? Then what you see is expected. As the event states:

The DNS server was unable to open the Active Directory. This DNS server is configured to use directory service information and cannot operate without access to the directory. The DNS server will wait for the directory to start. If the DNS server is started but the appropriate event has not been logged, then the DNS server is still waiting for the directory to start.

AD relies on DNS to start with the netlogon service. But this one relies on running DNS which is AD integrated....... Got it? Chicken or egg? AD require DNS, DNS run only iof AD is started. Install a second DNS server for the domain and configure it as preferred on the DCs NIC, that way DNS for the domain is running and AD can start.

Additional it is recommended to have a t least 2 DC/DNS/GC per domain.
