What is the "Deterministic Network Enhancer"

    Question

  • Hi,

I came across a Windows Server 2003 with: "Deterministic Network Enhancer" (dne2000.sys) installed as a connection item on the NIC. Does anyone know what it is and where it is coming from?

  • Hello Metrop,

Deterministic Network Enhancer' is a type of driver for supporting  VPN software's for security and optimization of network traffic. It usually comes with the installation of Juniper and  CISCO VPN client.  Please check if you have got any application of the Network Interface Card Installed with VPN support.

    Hope this Helps

  • Hi,

    I don't think I ever installed VPN.
At seom point I had WinProxy and Comodo Firewall. Could that be the source?
