Internet Explorer 9 opens blank page on some webpages (reproducable with Google Docs)

    Question

  • Problem: Internet Explorer opens a new link on some webpages as blank page with Domain User role

Reproducable: Yes, logon to Google Documents, click on document. A new tab opens only blank

Not Reproducable: when the same user is a Administrator on the server (Domain Admin role)

GPO: does not affect the working of this, only AD domain user and domain admin rights making diffrence at this moment

    Reproducable screenshot (User Role):

    Non-Reproducable (Admin):

  • Hi,

Make sure to enable the ActiveX control when you access this webpage.

You may logon terminal server by this “issue” user account, try resetting Internet Explorer and check if it’s works.

Do you use the 64 bit version of IE 9 in your terminal server? If so, please try to use 32 bit IE 9 to see whether the same issue still exists.

For this blank webpage issue, you can try to disable hardware acceleration (GPU rendering) in Internet Explorer 9 to see if the same issue still exists.

    1. Open IE9, click the "Tools" icon (Alt+X) and select Internet options.

    2. Under Internet options, open the 'Advanced' tab and tick mark the option named "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering".

    3. Click Apply, Ok and restart your Internet Explorer 9.
