I don't see Last known good configuration

    Question

  • Hi,

I've a server 2008 and when I restarts the server I don't see the option "Last known good configuration". Althougn I've other options like Safe Mode, Starts windows normally and so on.

Can anybody tell me how to get that option when the server starts?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards.

  • In Windows Server 2003, if during boot process system hive gets corropted then it will try to use Last Known Good Configuration, if last known good configuration also corropted then it may possible to get that problem, should be same concept is there on windows server 2008.

repare is one of the option.

  • Thanks Joydeep for your answer.

At the moment I prefer not to repair the server because this is one my two DC and this is also my file server. I've managed to start the server and it's working fine, although if it crashes again I won't have this option in the boot.

    Regards.
