SBS 2008 cant install WSUS 3.0 SP2 x64

    Question

  • Hi Folks, i really need some help here. when i try to update the WSUS 3 on our Windows SBS 2008 i get "Failed"

    and this is what it writes in the log:

    2012-03-16 07:59:26  Success   MWUSSetup          Validating pre-requisites...
    2012-03-16 07:59:26  Error     MWUSSetup          WSUS is outdated. But this will not block setup (Error 0x00000000: The operation completed successfully.)

    i have tried every sulotion on the forum and the net. but dont seem to work

    Pease check that you have enough freespace on your System Disk

    Please check the size SQL Express Log File (LDF)

    Please check the SQL service is running.

    hi, i have just check does tings that you ask for.

    and everything is fine..

    there are enough freespace on the system disk, sql service is running.. but one thing that i couldnt find is the log file.. where is it and how to check the file size..?

    After a clean restart, Pls try to download and manaully install WSUS 3.0 SP2: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5216
    If failed again,See the Setup log "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\WSUSSetup.log".

  • just did what you asked, but it still failes when trying to install. the log files says:

    im using the administrator account, but it still failes when trying to update.

    just noticed that when i run the "SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration" it then open a internet explorer site with the computername:port but gives a error saying

    "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

  • According to your issue, It is reported a WSS problem.

    For error related to Event ID 27745, I have to stop and start the Windows
    SharePoint Services Timer service with following command:

    net stop “Windows
    SharePoint Services Timer”
    net start “Windows SharePoint Services Timer”

    just ran the net stop and start but doenst seem to help, could it have something to with SharePointer not working because when i click on "SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration" i get a error saying HTTP 404 Page not found..

    just ran the guide for repairing the Sharepoint and it was done it said that i need to run the "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard" after it restarted the pc. but when i run the "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard" after restart i get a error:

  • did not help, i asked around regarding if there where using sharepoint, and they said no, so i was thinking if i uninstalled sharepoint would it solve my problem, but before i do that how do i take full backup of the different database and config files an so on.
