Password Recovery for Windows Server 2003

    Question

  • Is there a way for overwite or recover a admin password for Windows Server 2003? Disgruntled employee locked the server and will not give up the pasword?

  • If there is not another user that is a member of the administrator group on that server, then you may need to resort to a password recovery utility.  I cant recommend any specific utility, but you can search for applications used to reset the administrator's password.  There are a few out there.

    Alternatetively, if you have access to a system state backup, just use that to restore the admin account.
