Toshiba Laptop restarts by itself

    Question

  • hi i have i toshiba laptop i have since 3 years ago, i have a problem which is that it sometimes freezes and i cant do anything except shutting down and sometimes it restarts by itself i had windows 7 before so i formatted it and installed windows 8 but the problem persists i downloaded blue screen viewer and it showed 2 problems

  • It seems to be a problem which is related to hardware driver. I suggest we check and confirm whether the graphic device driver and mother-board chipset driver are installed properly.

    Also we can check with the manufacturer of the laptop (Toshiba) to see if there is any known compatible issue with this model of laptop.

  • seems you will have to flash the bios. Please download the bios from toshiba website. It should work

  • i would try to flash it and i have a friend who knows how to do it but i am afraid to have to plug in the charger into electricity because that is when the problem occurs and the laptop will shutdown and as i know if the laptop is shut down while flashing the bios it may not turn on again

  • Hello,

    If you reinstalled Windows and and even installed a new OS and it still exhibits the same shutdown problems, it's safe to say it's hardware related. Possibly a leaky capacitor or some intermittent connection on the MB can cause intermittent harware restarts as well.
