configuring ADC with AD- DNS

    Question

  • I'm installing ADC in windows 2008R2, and using AD-DNS...While installing , we received "

A delegation for this DNS server cannot be created because the authoritative parent zone cannot be found or it does not run Windows DNS server "

I came to know that, we can ignore if it is for new forest. Shall we ignore this, for installing Additional Domain controller also,

If this error, how to fix this,

Also, is it require DNS role to be installed before stating DCpromo.?

    Thanks SUBBURAJ.T

  • Hi,

This is a known issue, we could disregard the message and click Yes.  When install a new Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controller with DNS server into a domain such as treyresearch5.net, we might encounter the following error:

A delegation for this DNS server cannot be created because the authoritative parent zone cannot be found or it does not run Windows DNS server. If you are integrating with an existing DNS infrastructure, you should manually create a delegation to this DNS server in the parent zone to ensure reliable name resolution from outside the domain “treyresearch5.net”. Otherwise, no action is required.

We could ignore this when you add ADC to a domain also.
