another computer believes that it is the master browser Event ID 8003

    Question

  • The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer LALA that believes that it is the Master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_{0CDD9BD9-2DBA-4D73-A763-7F14D79E631}.  The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

I found this and several other warnings and errors by right clicking on Computer and then clicking on Manage and events.  My Internet Explorer is running very slow and I believe this may be the reason.  I use my laptop and another house sometimes and they have wireless network.  LALA is one of the computers on the network but I am not using that connection right now.  How do I repair this?

    Thank you for helping,

    Darlene Sage

  •   The computer browser service has nothing to do with Internet explorer or web browsing. It is a Windows service which helps you find other machines on your local network.

If you are not relying on the computer browser service you do not need to worry about these announcements.
