  • Hello,

You need to find this policy and recreate it (or check the entries).

    Please run this command:

dsquery * domainroot -filter "(&(objectClass=GroupPolicyContainer))" -attr displayname name gpcuserextensionnames gpcmachineextensionnames -limit 0 >C:\TEMP\policies.txt

    Now open C:\TEMP\policies.txt.

    Search for the CSE "{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}".

  • Hello

    thx for the anwer.

The result in the txt-file =

Trusted Sites Local Network                      {B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED}                                                                                        [{35378EAC-683F-11D2-A89A-00C04FBBCFA2}{D02B1F72-3407-48AE-BA88-E8213C6761F1}][{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47F1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}{D02B1F72-3407-48AE-BA88-E8213C6761F1}]

Some many different GUID for one GPO?

Do i need to create the GPO "Trusted Sites Local Network" ?

Until now this GPO is deleted a long time ago!

    Thx

  • Hello,

If you already have deleted the GPO "Trusted Sites Local Network",
    you have an orphaned GPO.

    You should delete this GPO.
    Please have a look at:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sv/winserverGP/thread/4c06856c-163b-491f-b406-6d5f9d6bd322

You should also check your SYSVOL for this policy.

Some many different GUID for one GPO?

    That is normal.

The first part is the Client Side Extension.
The second part is the MMC-snapin to edit the policy.

The first is your "orphaned" GPO. The latter ones - as Matthias already
mentioned - define what you used inside this GPO. If you are interesteed
in "what do these GUIDs mean" check
all known GUIDs for all Snapins and CSEs known today ;-)

  • Hello Matthias,

i did also have some replication problems. These are solved now.

But on my domain-controllers after gpupdate /force still the following:

I have also run the query to policies.txt, but  "{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}". isn`t found anymore, and also NOT in ADSI-edit:

Another strange this...when i run gpupdate /force on a cliënt, this problem will not occur...

The only output i have on a cliënt is this :

    gpupdate /force
    Updating policy...

Computer Policy update has completed successfully.
User Policy update has completed successfully.

Certain user policies are enabled that can only run during logon.

    OK to log off? (Y/N)

This message returns everytime when entering gpupdate /force

Is there a relation between this messages?

What is the next step to fix this issue?

    Thx

  • Hello,

Is there a relation between this messages?

What is the next step to fix this issue?

No, there should not be a relation.
There might be policies that can only be processed in foreground.

I have also run the query to policies.txt, but  "{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}". isn`t found anymore, and also NOT in ADSI-edit:

"{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}" is the GUID of the CSE, not the GUID of the policy.
You need to look for policy "{B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED}".

If you find this policy, delete it (in adsiedit.msc or dsa.msc).
    Please also check if there is a folder \\domain.intern\sysvol\domain.intern\policies\{B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED}

If so, also delete the folder.

  • Hello Matthias,

i have tried to find BOTH Guids, but both are not found in adsiedit and in the policies-directory!

    Tuesday, January 22, 2013 3:29 PM
  • Please run the dsquery again.

Did you run the dsquery on the same DC that you are using adsiedit.msc?

It seems there is nog right ID?

Also did a gpupdate /force again on this domaincontroller.

Same output from GPupdate and also event 1085 in the eventviewer:

Windows failed to apply the Internet Explorer Zonemapping settings. Internet Explorer Zonemapping settings might have its own log file. Please click on the "More information" link.

  • Hello,

It seems there is nog right ID?

    Yes, GPO {B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED} is gone.

Please try to unjoin one of the clients from the domain.
    Reboot the client.
    Join the domain again.

    Does the error persist?

  • Hello,

CheckForGPOsToRemove: GPO <IE 10 Trusted Sites> needs to be removed

OK, gpsvc tries to remove the orphaned policy from the client.

You need to cleanup the registry manually.

Please make a backup of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy.

    Delete every key that is related to Policy {B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED}
    or CSE "{4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3}"
    There will be serveral keys.

If you configured the zone mappings in User Configuration the key would be HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy.

After you have deleted the keys, please reboot.

  • That did the job!

    B651B266-8382-4402-A1E0-31DD5F2DF8ED wasn`t found,

4CFB60C1-FAA6-47f1-89AA-0B18730C9FD3 was found and after delete/reboot /gupdate force no error anymore!

    Thx

Only one thing happends after gpupdate /force:

And in the eventlog EVERYTIME this event :

The Group Policy settings for the user were processed successfully. New settings from 11 Group Policy objects were detected and applied.

Why are there every GPupdate /force   "new"  policies applied?

    Thx
