  • If you're using win7 unattended xml file, you will need to change the build version in following line to include win7 SP1 build version:

    <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package" version="6.1.abcd"

hint: see properties of setup.exe from win7 SP1 integrated build and you will find the version no.

  • We use MDT 2010 to deploy Windows 7 SP1 integrated + languagepack dutch for windows 7 SP1 as a package (downloaded all from licensing.microsoft.com) and get the same error: Windows could not apply unattend settings during pass [offlineServicing].

Installing Windows 7 SP1 integrated without the languagepack works fine, but when we tack the package during the deploymentwizard then the installation of Windows 7 fails and the above error message pops up.

    Also updated WinPe to 3.1.

We tried to locate the <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package" version="6.1.acd>" but failed to find it.

Please advise where we can find this string.

In \deploymentshare$\controle\%tasksequenceI"D% there is a aunattend.xml but the above line isn't there.

Deployment is done to a hyper-v PC.

Hope someone can help us out.

    Thx in advance

  • After several days and nights of sleepless I finally come have some rest and peace..

I discovered that a Registry Change for user default folder before Imaging the PC was the cause of this error for some reason..
I have since then reverted to the default profile location and imaged the PC - Voila!!
I will change the default location through Group Policy after..

I hope this helps someone avoid  the headache out there..
