Install Hotfix KB2775511 on multipile servers -Windows 2008 R2 SP1

    Question

  • Hi,

I need to install the hotfix KB2775511 on number of Windows 2008 R2 -SP1 servers .I would like to automate this process.

Regarding the reboot ,i need to make sure that the servers are rebooted automatically on a scheduled time . This reboot should happen at a scheduled time.

We use WSUS for patching the servers.

    Thank you.

The reboot will happen according to how you have the systems configured and whether there is anybody logged on when the installation occurs.... just like any other update.

If the servers are configured to use Scheduled Installations, then the update will install at that time.

If the servers are not configured to use Scheduled Installations, then you need to set a DEADLINE on the update approval so that the update will be installed no later than that time. (Please note, setting a deadline does not prevent the system, or a user, from installing the update prior to the deadline; it only guarantees that the update will be installed at or by the deadline time.)
