Problem that I have with Windows 8 , answers needed.

    Domanda

  • OK , lets start it.

My first  question about windows 8 in  a forum.

I tried to install many antivirus software  in Windows 8 Consumer Preview.

But failed with the following antivirus software due to "Compatibility Issues".

    Kaspersky IS 2011

    Kaspersky IS 2012

    Bit Defender 2011

    Avast Pro 6

and finally i got one working , Avast IS 7.

But after installing it , my dial up connection were not working...

I have uninstalled Avast , and my Dial connections are ok now!!

What is the problem actually ?

Which Antivirus should I use instead?

    Q2.

When I start (or restart my PC from Win 8) my PC , and choose windows 7 (I have two OSs , Win 7 and Win 8 beta) , PC restarts once , and loads Windows 7 again ...

    Why this happens?

it takes a bit more time to load Windows 7 due to this "auto re-start".

  • I would recommend Security Essential that comes with Windows 8. I've been using it and it is probably good enough for anti-virus usage.

  • For the second question, here's how I understand.

Windows 8 has done rework on booting process and thus, by the time you get to the menu you notice that you can even use mouse which is very different from previous release. So by that point Windows 8 has already begun so if you choose windows7, it will have to reboot to proceed with windows 7.

    1- uninstall the previous avast

2- install fresh avast 7 and chose compatible in setup menu.

    3- complete the install.

    everything works fine...
