  • Hi,

After reviewing the logging file, I noticed serveral points to check:

    [7:51:02 AM Info] OEMID:
[7:51:02 AM Info] Product is not already installed.
[7:51:02 AM Info] Successfully opened Msi package: install\03. SSO x64\SSO64\SSO64.msi

It seems that the server doesn't meet the prerequisites to install the SSO. Please verify whether the SSO get ready to install.

[7:51:37 AM Info] Action 7:51:37: Rollback. Rolling back action:
[7:51:42 AM Info] Detailed Log information for product install\03. SSO x64\SSO64\SSO64.msi is available at DetailedLog
[7:51:42 AM Info] MSI installation returned 1603 - Fatal error during installation.

I think we could find something useful at DetailedLog.

    Regards,

    James

  • Hi,

From the logging file provided, it seems that you would like to install the Microsoft Enterprise Single Sign-On on the Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64bit.

The issue is related to the BizTalk Server, I think you’d better ask your question according to the link below:

    Title: BizTalk Server Forums
    URL: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/category/biztalkserver/

Personally, I think you could refer to the BizTalk Server 64-Bit Support to verify the information there is useful or not.

  • I'm not installing BizTalk Server, only ESSO which can be installed anywhere independently. So, it's not related to BizTalk Server. It must be some issues with Windows Server 2008 R2 updates & packs..

    Please help.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your clarification. The ESSO is widely used in the BizTalk server. At the first sight, I thought it’s used in BizTalk Server.

At the same time, I noticed that you have posted a same thread in the Biz Talk server. After reviewing the Setup log, I noticed the following error message:

    ========================
MSI (s) (AC:64) [12:40:37:275]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Microsoft Enterprise Single Sign-On. Product Version: 6.0.0245.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Installation success or error status: 1603.

MSI (s) (AC:64) [12:40:37:275]: Deferring clean up of packages/files, if any exist
    MSI (s) (AC:64) [12:40:37:275]: MainEngineThread is returning 1603
MSI (s) (AC:3C) [12:40:37:275]: No System Restore sequence number for this installation.
    =========================

At first, you need to make sure that you have installed the latest updates on your OS. The Error code 1063 means that a reboot require.

So I suggest that you need to reboot your server then install the ESSO to verify whether the issue still remained or not.

    Regards,
    James

    Regards,

    James

  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks everyone for your response. I resolved the issue. You are correct James, the problem was with prerequisities only. I had installed SQL Server 2008 on machine where I was installing SSO and that was the issue. SSO setup requires MSSQL 2005 as prerequisties, I just installed SQL clinet tool on machine and it worked fine.

    Regards
