Roaming Profiles

    Întrebare

  • I need help with roaming profiles. When a user logs in a local profile is created called "username". When the user logs out it copies it to the profiles share on a windows 2003 server. When the user logs back in it creates "username.domain". When the user logs out and back in it creates "username.domain.001". There are no files left in the old local profiles, no files at all, just the folder. UPHClean shows tons of 1632 events regarding access denied errors to update security descriptors. I've disabled caching on the profile and folder redirection shares, doesn't help. I've added the user to domain admins, doesn't help. I've been researching this for over 2 weeks and have tried multiple things and nothing has helped yet. Any ideas I haven't tried would be welcome as this is becoming a massive headache with over 1500 pc's.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I believe herein lies the problem but I cannot figure out why winlogon keeps getting stuck during logoff.

Error 32 seems to be access denied. I just set full permissions to the ProfileList registry key for the user and same thing. The users profile is completely empty, I double checked after setting show hidden and system files.

Thanks for the quick reply Bakradze.

  • Sorry, I think the line I bolded got cut off.

    USERENV(1f0.1f4) 12:07:23:660 UnloadUserProfileP:  DeleteProfileDirectory returned false (2).  Error = 32

According to the whole log, all files get copied back to the profile share and removed from the local machine, except the profile directory itself. I've even made the user an admin on the local machine and the error still occurs.

  • Did you try to update a Windows Server 2003?
    26 ianuarie 2010 07:56
  • Yeah, Windows 2003 Standard 32bit with Service Pack 2 and all current patches. All 1500 workstations are XP Service Pack 3 with current updates.
