Bulk edit picture metadata with thumbnails

    问题

  • Hi all,

We have a requirement here that people want to bulk edit metadata for images, but in datasheet view you don't get to see the actual picture..Which ofcourse makes it very difficult to add metadata because you don't know what is on the picture.

Is there any workaround? Or another way to display these images while we can edit them quickly ? (not opening 1 by 1 and editing metadata)

The pictures are stored in an asset list, but can be migrated to another location if necessary.

  • Hi Marijn,

Using "Inline Editing" can be edited more quickly a little, but still one by one.

Another approach is that we can use "All Assets" view (AllItems.aspx) sorting by "ID", then open two IE browsers for this asset list, one is opened as "All Assets" view, another is opened as "Datasheet View" for the same AllItems.aspx page (click Datasheet View button from Ribbon), both of them have same ID sorting, then we can bulk edit the items in "Datasheet View" corresponding to the thumbnails in "All Assets" view, not elegant but it should be able to work.

    Thanks

  • Good point using the inline edit.

Have to check if this is good enough for the people at Communications. If not, we will look for 3d party tools.

It feels silly to buy a whole DAM solution just for this requirement.
