Windows xp setup files not found ?

While i was installing windows xp on my laptop , it reached 50% but then a message showed up " (File Name) not found " and it keeps showing ALOT , and i couldnt complete the installation . The wierd thing is that when i used the same CD to install windows xp it worked fine . I will appreciate your help , and thanks in advance ....

I have seen this when an OEM disc is used to install XP on a different brand computer.
If you used a Dell OEM install disc to install XP on a non-Dell computer this error is normal.
What is the exact make, model, and series of the laptop?
What is the brand of the OEM install disc?
