We have Sharepoint 2010 Foundation and I have Office 2010 on my PC.
I can open documents and spreadsheets on Word and Excel respectively without any errors.
I cam also save the same document and spreadsheet after making changes to it.
However, when I try to save the document or spreadsheet AS, I always get the message
Upload Failed You are required to sign in to upload your changes to this location [Sign In]
When I click on Sign In, nothing happens. I've to look for settings and options, tried loads of other things such as looking in Sharepoint Workspace settings but still no joy.
I've searched high and low but found no one with the same or even similar issues. Hoping someone can help out here.

Thanks SivaMit for your reply. I looked at all three links but found only http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=kb21454 to be relevant. Unfortunately the solution it gives is not clear to me. It asks me to go to Resource Policies > Web > Rewriting > Custom Headers, but i have no idea where that is. Could you possibly point me to the right direction?
Thank you Sally Tang for your reply also. I had actually added the site to Trusted sites and that didn't change anything for me.
Please make you are logged in the SharePoint site with the correct account. Check if the account is allowed to modify and save the documents.
Also, is the account you log on Windows the same as the account you log in SharePoint site?
You might also check the issue with another account, such as the administrator account.
I am automatically logged on to my own Sharepoint account using Windows Authentication and I am an administrator of all sites. I am able to open, modify and save the document, but cannot Save As.
I tried to save a document as on another computer and it actually worked fine. So now it looks like it may be an Office 2010 or IE setting that may be the cause of the problem.
Key machine specs:
- With error: Windows XP, Office 2010, IE7
- Without error: Windows XP, Office 2010, IE8
Based on my research, this seems a to be an problem between webdav and ssl problem. A user made the registervalue AuthForwardServerList and put the address in reg_multi_sz and resolved the issue:

That looks like the same issue I have.
I'll give that a try and post back as soon as I have a result!
Thank you very much!
