常规讨论 Improve search results for Foundation

My company is running Foundations with SQL 2008.

Search is not functioning correctly and when it does it brings back too many results to be helpful.  The search feature is only searching the entire site from the HOME site (root site).  Even when searching from there it doesn't search all the subsites and documents that have been deleted are still in the search results days later.

    Questions:

    1. Has anyone else ran into this problem and have a solution?

    2. I have access to Search Server 2010 and Search Server express is free, would either of these work with Foundation and if so will one of them provide better search results for my end users? Filters for results, anything to make the results more meaningful?

Thank you for any advice you may have.

Cross site search is not avaulable in the free version of SharePoint Foundation - to get something much more like the enterprise search of SharePoint Server 2010 you need to use at least Search Server Express 2010...

Sounds like you're not crawling your content sources often enough

MSerejo- Do you know how I can start a crawl?

Central Administration > Manage Service Applications > [Your Search Service Application] > Content Sources > Start All Crawls

I don't have a search service application, all I have application discovery, Business data connectivity, Security token, usage and health data collection.

Is the search service application something that is there by default or something extra I was suppose to install?

Thanks for your help, sorry for the basic questions.

Unfortunately I can't help you if you don't have a search service application, as that is what I use for searching in sharepoint. My advice would be to install Search Server 2010 since you have access to that. Foundation is quite limited.
