One dumb question. After you migrate all the databases from Sharepoint 2010 to a different central SQL 2008R2 Entp. server and you uninstall SQL 2008r2 entp on Sharepoint server how and with which application will Sharepoint connect to SQL on another server? Do you need to leave any agent tools while you uninstall SQL?
When you follow this procedure for moving all of your farm's databases to a new server, one of the steps is to create a SQL Server client alias that points SharePoint to the new server without changing the database "server name" in SharePoint:
8. Use SQL Server connection aliases to point to the new database server, and then use the connection alias to update all Web servers. A connection alias is a defined alternate name that can be used to connect to an instance of SQL Server. You have to configure the alias on all Web servers and application servers in the farm. For details, see To point the Web application to the new database server by setting up SQL Server connection aliases.
Did you follow some other guide? If so, will you please share it so we can see how this re-association works?

I have not moved the databases yet. First I want to understand the scenario. Sharepoint is installed on a server with a local SQL 2008 R2 enterprise. I was wondering what will happened after I will move databases from Sharepoint server to some other SQL server and then I will uninstall SQL server on Sharepoint.
How will Sharepoint know how to connect to SQL on another server, after I will uninstalled SQL 2008 r2 enterprise on sharepoint server.
I hope you understand what I mean...
helped me to clarify my problems.
