We have established service Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. I'm create some sites:

    wsps/helpdesk

    wsps/wiki

In the Central Administration snap-in i have settings of SharePoint Services the outcoming mail server.

When I create task in the Helpdesk site corresponding notification by e-mail is delivered to the user.

In the Wiki site similar action in what doesn't result.

Users all are in one company. Tested with users who are a part of participants of both sites. I verifyed all settings from the point of view of correctness of instructions of e-mail addresses, but all is ineffectual.

Types of the created sites are reflected in names: Helpdesk it is created on the corresponding template downloaded from site Microsoft. Wiki it is created by means of regular template Windows SharePoint Services.

In what there can be a problem? Where to search for its decision?

Can be eat articles about it?

    Michael

    Thanks. This is goog article.

But this article not for my case. I have two sites on one phisical WSS 3.0. First site (helpdesk) working OK and outbound message delivered messages.

But second site (wiki) not sending messages.

This is not SMTP problem. May by problem with site settings?

    Hi Michael ,

I think you are talking about the email notification that task list have .The ‘Send e-mail when ownership is assigned ‘ is set to no by default on .So you should change it to yes, so that when a user is assigned a task ,the system will send him an email.  Check this setting: Open the Task list in wiki site >Settings>List settings>Advanced settings>Email Notification >Yes .

    Thanks,

    Hi,

In your wiki site have you checked if the workflows to send eMail is configured properly?

If yes then switch to verbose mode of logging and then carry out this step. This will provide you the maximum logging details, check it to find any thing that is going wrong and not sending the alerts.

I hope this will help you out.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    in my task list > settings>List Settings>Advance Settings>

I am not able to see the "Email Notification" panel to enable them.

But I can see this on my another sharePoint server.
