This program hijacks the computer, performing false scans and detections, and offering to sell you antivirus software. I have Windows XP/SP2. I am unable to access any web site with Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer. I tried a Norton boot disk and launched a scan, but it was aborted after only 28 files. I tried to install Windows Defender, but the installation was aborted. I was able to run AdAware 1.05, and it got about halfway through a full system scan, identifying 2 registry faults and 45 infected files before that scan was aborted, and I am no longer able to open the program. What next? Erase and rebuild the hard drive?
