    My organization has recently deployed Windows 7 Professional. Users who log onto these machines hae a blank screensaver and a lockout idel tiem of 10 minutes, deployed via group policy. After the upgrade to Win7 Pro,I have ONE user who's computer will not go to screensaver and lockout after 10 minutes. I began troubleshooting whether this was a result of conflicting policies, but even after making a new user, and replacing all his privilages this still happens.

    Hello Gavau,

    Please check whether the scrnsave.scr (blank screensaver) is in the %systemroot%\System32 folder.

    Meanwhile, please verify whether the following registry key value is correct on the client computer.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop]
    "ScreenSaveActive"="1"
    "ScreenSaveTimeOut"="600"
    "ScreenSaverIsSecure"="1"
    "SCRNSAVE.EXE"="scrnsave.scr"

    Hello Gavau,

    You mentioned that "I have ONE user who's computer will not go to screensaver and lockout after 10 minutes."

    Do you check whether the GPO be applied to the computer?

    Where is the *.scr file located? How do you deploy screen saver by using group policy?

    Please check if the following thread can resolve the issue.

    Meanwhile, please collect the output of gpresult /v and paste it to the forum for further research.

    Everything seems to check out. We are deploying through our domain, the gpresults show both the default and the enhanced screen saver policies. When I look at the screensaver settings in the properties windows it shows the correct blank screensaver and the wait is set at 10 minutes and the logon screen at resume is checked. They are also all grayed out so that they cannot be changed. Everything seems normal other than it will not start after 10 minutes of sitting idle.

    You don't have any application or anything on that computer which makes forces Windows to not start the screensaver?

    Have you tried to run the *.scr file to see if the computer even can execute it?
