已答覆Sound Card Problem - AC'97

I am using Windows 7 and very pleased with it so far, it seems very stable and faster than XP.

The only problem I am experiencing is that when I use my recording software i.e. Audacity, it is unable to record what is being channelled through my sound card (which is a Realtek AC'97 with latest drivers according to Windows 7 device manager).

When I go to configure the recording options, I have these options available:

    Microphone
    Line In
    SPDIF
    Phone Line

When I used XP I also had options to choose Stereo Mix or Mono Mix, which when selected enabled sounds from the sound card to be recorded by installed software.  These options are no longer available and as I am not wanting to record from the microphone, Line in etc, I am unable to select the desired setting.

Could you please help me with this and let me know if there is something else I need to do.

    Many thanks,

    Martin

Yes!  That's exactly what I was looking for!

    Many thanks for your help!

p.s. if the youtube video disappears, the way to get the stereo or mono mix options is to go to the control panel, click on 'hardware & sound' and then 'manage audio devices' then select the 'recording' tab and do a right click below the list and select 'show disabled devices'.

You can then see stereo/mono mix options.  Next, right click on the one you want and select 'enable', then click on 'set default'

I used the pretty much same procedure, however, I also had to delete my sound drivers from Device Manager and then reinstall the updated driver from the manufacture’s site.
