We are currently looking at moving away from our very large NetWare environment for file services.  The choices are SLES OES with eDir services and file services or Windows Server 2008.  We currently have eDirectory and ActiveDirectory in the environment, so either directory will work.  With the SLES OES offering, there is the ability to automatically, based on rules, to move stale data or data not accessed in a long time, off to a different storage location while the user maintains seemless access.  I have been looking at many of the features/improvements in Server 2008 and still can't find a feature similar to this one.  We have such a large amount of this unstructured data that this feature is almost a must to reduce the costs of maintaining storage.  Is anyone away of a similar feature built into Server 2008 or other options?

    Any information is appreciated.

Windows Server 2008 R2 supports this request, as part of FSRM Classification Rules. Or it could be easily scripted in any Windows OS, to be honest, with PowerShell or VBS.
