FOPE 2010

I was wondering if there is a way to tell FOPE not to block based on an range of IP addresses. I am having issues with using the mail gateway service from DYNDNS. Microsoft keeps blocking their addresses. They have over 200 IP addressed for their servers....
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Hi Mark -
There are two ways to accomplish this in FOPE. The first is to create an inbound connector that specifies to skip filtering options for a specific set of IP addresses or domains. The article Inbound Safe Listing Scenario (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg430159.aspx) covers this in detail and we also have a screencast video that walks you through how to configure this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/Video/gg470077.
The second way to accomplish this is to create a policy rule for inbound messages that allows messages sent from specific IP addresses. The first example in the Policy Rules article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff715218.aspx) walks through this process. You'd simply need to substitute the domain names for the IP addresses.
In general, I think using the first approach would be best.
I hope that helps,

Micah,
I am using Forefront 2010 for Exchange. I am not using the online cloud version of Forefront. Can I still setup connectors using the non online version of Forefront?
Thanks again..

Hi Mark -
I know that FPE has the ability to create a list of allowed senders. More information about that topic can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc483077.aspx.
If that article doesn't fully answer your question I recommend asking the FPE forum, which you can find here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/FSENext/threads

Thanks Micah,
I figured out how to add those ip address to the allowed list and it's working now! I will still access that other forum because I still need Microsoft to delist DYNDNS.ORG from their blacklist...
Thahks again....
