Has anybody ran into the problem where only partial websites are blocked, when that particular site should be fully open.  For example, the pictures within wikipedia are showing a red x for all the images.  Wikipedia is under the education/reference category, which I have unblocked.  I thought it was the gstatic that needed to be unblocked, as I've seen the same problem on gmail, but I can't figure out what wikipedia needs.  I know if I open up media sharing it will fix the problem, but that will allow sites I want blocked.

From what I gathered through the logs, I see a http Denied Connection 12232 Forefront TMG denied the specified URL.  I have wiki on the whitelist but it's blocking embedded content.  How do you go about allowing that content.  As I mentioned, in Gmail it was gstatic that needed to be unblocked which was revealed by my logs.  I'm not seeing much for wiki thought.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

    Thank  you for the post.

“For example, the pictures within wikipedia are showing a red x for all the images.” – this issue may cause by incorrect access rule that will block the traffic.  Please look into your firewall rule to make sure the URL set in this website is not blocked.

    Hi Nick,

I understand that it's a firewall rule, but my question is how do I go about finding out what is blocking it?  I'm not getting much detail back from the logs as shown above.  If Wikipedia is under the education/reference category, why is content being blocked?  You would think TMG is smart enough to determine that content on that page.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

You may use fiddler to determine which site should be open in the access rule.

    Fiddler is simply priceless!

upload.wikipedia.org is what needed to be unblocked.  I was able to trace what host it was calling out to.  Thanks Nick!
