Correct Product Key rejected

I'm re-installing Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student pack. This is the second of the three licenses in the pack (I have one free). This is on my daughter's netbook (Toshiba NB305). I had Office 2010 previously installed on the netbook. However, she had her system so messed up (particularly totally invisible folders), that I did a clean install of Windows 7 Starter from the Toshiba site. The first time I installed, it worked with no problem (although I can't remember how I solved the no DVD reader problem).
Since the netbook doesn't have a dvd reader, I put the install disk in my desktop and shared it to the network. When it asks for the product key, I carefully entered the correct key. Installer says it's an incorrect key.
Solutions?
thanks
Ron

Hi,
the most common reason for this is due to a pre-installed copy of Office Starter/Trial (which will often fail to validate a purchased key).
this article should help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836178
