Application Name : MapInfo
Application Version: 11.0.0.109
Company Name: Pitney Bowes – Business Insight
Sequencer Version: 4.6.0.20200
App-V Client Version Tested On: 4.6.0.20200
Operating System Sequenced On: Windows 7 X86
Pre-requisites: None
Client Operating Systems Successfully Deployed To: Windows 7 X86

Steps to Sequence the Application:
- Install MapInfo to a clean sequencer and export registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\FLEXnet Licensing Service\Security and save to a local working space
- Revert Sequencing Machine to clean snapshot
- Start sequencing and Install MapInfo as normal inputing required information eg licensing server etc
- When the install is complete and MapInfo updated if required copy the registry key back
- Finish monitoring and Launch the programme to check it works
- Edit the OSD File so it allows Local Interaction and contains the following script at launch
path to application/MapInfow.exe –ActivateLicense
and this script on shutdown
path to application/MapInfow.exe –ReturnLicense
this is so every time the package is opened it gets a license from the server and returns it every time it shuts down. I enabled this because we utilise roaming profiles and MapInfo associates licenses to PCs so didn’t want each PC our users use to have a MapInfo license.
- Complete the sequence and save it
- Publish the Sequence on your App-V Server
I am not aware of any limitations or known issues as this worked for me.
