Unable to version AutoCAD Drawings ( .dwg files )

Is anyone using SharePoint 2010 to store their AutoCAD Drawings and can successfully create a version?
Everything seemed to be working fine, but I have not been able to create a new version of these drawings. I can create versions galore of other documents, but not AutoCAD Files. When I check out a AutoCAD Drawing, work on it, then check it back in it just overwrites the original version.
The only way I can create a new version of the file is if I upload a drawing over top of the drawing that already exists in SharePoint.
Has anyone else experienced this or that does not have this problem? Any solutions?
Craig

Please refer to these links: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2011/Autocad-and-Sharepoint-integration/td-p/2818964
You may also consider Visio (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visio/archive/2010/03/31/improved-cad-support-in-visio-2010.aspx), which integrate with SharePoint well.

2011年12月27日 下午 05:48I just wanted to follow up with what we ended up doing. We took our all drawings out of SharePoint because it was to slow and the issues we were having before. The only way we could see getting drawings to work inside of SharePoint was to purchase a 3rd party software that would allow us to do it. So, we scraped the idea.

Where did you store the autocad files after taking them out of SharePoint? does it provide integrated version control in AutoCAD?
I think AutoCAD will provide buildin support for SharePoint in future, just as Acrobat X is doing now : http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfitmatters/2011/06/whats-new-in-acrobat-x-version-10-1.html;

We are looking at Vault, which integrates with SharePoint, or we'll be going with a fileshare.- 已標示為解答 Craig Wales 2012年7月13日 下午 05:25

We put hundreds of Autocad files into sharepoint and had the same issue with all of them.I dont think its a file corruption issue because the files still work great. Its just sharepoint could not create a new version of the file and had issues checking the file in.
