No Network Optimization Available

Hi All,
When deploying a VM I get this error, I have the offloading enabled on the NIC's on the host machine but for the life of me I cannot see where to enable this within VMM2012 RC. From what I can see this is meant to be automatic. What trouble shooting can i do here?
Thanks

2011年9月13日 下午 12:24Thanks for the reply, I have enabled it on the VM however I get an error saying "there currently are no network adapters with network optimization available on host server1." I have checked the host and Broardcom BASP drivers say it is available but Hyper-V does nto pick them up :(

Do you have a synthetic or emulated NIC?
For a virtual machine to take advantage of network optimization, you must add a synthetic network adapter on the Hardware Configuration tab of the Virtual Machine Properties dialog box, connect it to a virtual network on which network optimization is available, and then select the Enable virtual network optimizations check box. This feature is not available for an emulated network adapter.

Thanks Jeff, Kristian
I have enabled this on the VM Nics and it is not available.... This is due to the host server not telling VMM it is available infact it is reporting it is not available when I use powershell to check for some reason.
I have no idea why at the moment but I will try again in a few weeks with a server with no teaming software and see what happens then!

First, decide which network optimization you want to use, TCP Chimney or VMQ.
To use VMQ, there are 2 pre-requisites:
1. Your physical network adapter must support VMQ (in my case this involved updating my Hyper-V host to the latest Brodacom drivers.
2. You have to enable VMQ for your in the host OS:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg162696(WS.10).aspx
Be sure to use interrup coalescing if you have 1 Gb adapters.
Note, if you end up updating the physical NIC drivers on your host, be sure to either set your vSwitch(es) to internal or delete them alltogether and then re-create them after the update. After setting it to internal or deleting it, verify that the OS can see the physical NIC by running a ipconfig /all command. Trust me, I rebuilt a node after not doing this prior to a NIC driver upgrade.
VMQ trumps Chimney by default in most physical NIC parameter settings. You can change this in the registry, but I'm leaving it as is because I want to use VMQ rather than chimney. Finally, I disabled VMQ on the network adapters on my nodes that aren't being used as virtual switches.
After doing the above, my vSwitch in VMM now looks like this:

Hi Woody.
I changed my network cards to Intel and changed the teaming type and I now have a nice greeen tick for network optmization available.
When I deploy a VM I select the enable network optmization and deploy a VM sucessfully, so it must have checked to see if it was enabled for placement so I guess it is enabled.
However when I move the VM to another node in the server, it completes with warnings. When I checked the warning it says there are no network adapters available with it enabled, any ideas?
Just a thought I have not make any registry changes on the host machine, do i need to do this? If I do why did VM placement work, thanks

2011年10月15日 下午 04:28版主When you move the VM to another node you said, have you also enabled Network Optimization on that node? If not, it will be ignored with the warning you referred to.

Hi Blackuke,
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I think I am having the same problem. I have VMQs enabled on the NIC and a nice green tick on the Virtual Network connection on the host properties and I have enabled it on the virtual NIC on the VM, but I still get the following error creating or moving the VM
Information (11037)
There currently are no network adapters with network optimization available on host ***.domain.internalThanks

Hi all,
I am encountering the same problem with SC VMM 2012, V. 3.0.6019.0 and 2008R2 Datacenter. I've activated the VMQ on all my Network Adapter and on all nodes.
When I go to Virtual Network Properties on my nodes, I've got the green tick, so Network Optimization are enabled.
But when I try to migrate or create new VMs, I've got same Warning :

There currently are no network adapters with network optimization available on host ***.domain.internalPlease help.
Thanks

Dear All,
I'm still getting the warning message 11037 but scvmm reports me that network optimization has been enabled on my nodes. My network card are Intel ET quad port with latest driver and latest ProSet. I try to change my team first configured to dynamic lacp in VMLB. Both Hyper-V and SCVMM server are full updated. RSS base processor and other registry modification has been setup. I need help on that.
Thanks.

Hi all,
does anybody here know something new about the warning 11037? Got it on an 4 node Cluster with Server 2008R2 with Intel NICs. All nodes have optimizaion enabled but the warning keeps popping up when i migrate a machine. Windows Update and NIC-drivers are up to date.
Thanks
