Answered Windows Update permanently installs the same Updates

    Hi,

    since days after sucessfully installing KB2656351 and KB2600217 Windows update wants to install again the same updates on my Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit SP1??
    I can successfully install those updates as often I want, Windows Update always wants to install them again.

    remove .NET Framework 4 and reinstall it again:

    Hi,

    Also you can try these tests:

    1 Download and install the System Update Readiness tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

    2 Reset Windows Update components:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Yea, I had the same problem after installing Visual Basic 2012 Express, on Win7 64.

    As Milos pointed, removing dot-net framework 4 and reinstalling it again fixes the problem.

    It take a while thou.

    Hi,

    sorry for the delay. I removed .NET Framework 4 "Extended version" and the problem was gone.
    Windows update reinstalled .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and my PC is working fine. So I did not install again the "Extended Version".
