I am running Windows 7 RC1 64bit on a q6600, 8gb of ram and well over 2 tb worth of space, across 3 drives, and a gtx 280. When ever i try and watch videos I can watch one but because WMP doesn't really close anymore if I switch to a new video with a different codec I have to force WMP to close in task manager. The last time I did this it was eating 3.5gb of memory when I shut it down. Does anyone know what is causing this or me telling you now might help you guys find the problem. I am watching video recorded in all types of formats and use k lite mega codec for the codecs needed.

RC1 or RTM?  If you're on RTM: same video card?  Same codec pack... ?  The question would be what the commonality is.  Third party codec packs generally would not be expected to improve reliability.
