Windows 7 wanting to crash every time a connection to a wireless network is made
-
2009年3月12日 下午 10:18Hello, I've recently just installed Windows 7 BETA 7048 and whenever I try to make a connection with my wireless reciever (MSI PC60g I think) to my wireless router, it wants to crash. This happens for other networks around the neighborhood too.
I'm a bit worried this may have to do with how I installed it. I used Daemon tools to mount the .iso I got for it and ran it through there, since I couldn't get it on a disk.

Hi,
Which program crashes, Windows Explorer or the whole system? What is the symptom when the issue occurs, is it freeze, or crashes at once?
I suggest that you temporary disable the anti-virus. If you are using any third party wireless connection programs, remove them. Then, check the result.
If the issue persists, I suggest that you upgrade the driver for the wireless network adapter. If the issue still occurs, there may be compatibility issues between the adapter and Windows 7 beta.

Josephkun said:Hi, this forum is about build 7000. Don't know where you got the 7048 build from (and don't want to know), but it 'll be kind of hard to find help for that issue.Hello, I've recently just installed Windows 7 BETA 7048
Deamon Tools bsoded my windows 7 a tad too much (as magic iso did).
I used 7z (archiving program) as a workaround for all iso files, and that worked OK.

Sounds like bad driver on your network card. Not sure about the USB problem unless it has to do with power saving features not working correctly. At this point I think the easiest thing to do would be to try a system restore to take your system back to before you installed the new network card drivers. See if that corrects that particular problem.
As for the USB devices not working after stand by mode, I would, at least temporarily, disable all power saving options and see what happens.
