Windows 7 64 bit pro and virtual xp mode

2010年4月20日 上午 07:58hi i just bought a new hp dv7 3160us laptop with windows 7 professional 64 bit operating system and have now found out one of the main programs i use for my karaoke business will not function in 64 bit.
i tried installing virtual pc and xp mode and set up the program which installed no prob and intergrated to the 7 desktop where it can be run the problem i am having is i am very green with network mappng.
this is what i need to do the program for my karaoke system has 2 parts a sending program on one puter and a receiving program on the other the sending program sends a singers song request via a shared folder to the recieving puter to the shared folder then the receiving program displays this info in a pop up window.
my problem is i shared the receiving folder as well as the c drive on the virtual xp but when going into my network places the network xp virtual puter is visable but when i try to open it it says the path to it can't be found.
should i switch from nat mapping to physical network adapter setting to be able to share this file over the network to be accessible to my other computers or can u tell me what i need to do to get this to work.
I also need to set the path to this shared folder on the virtual pc in the sending programs file path box but not sure what the path would look like for example \\virtualxp-88950\c\songreceiver
Thank you for any help u can give me

Bind the virtual machine to the physical network adapter without using NAT.
The path to a drive on the physical machine follow this pattern:
Computer\C on WIN7
Computer\D on WIN7You can actually paste those strings into the address bar of Windows Explorer in your virtual machine and navigate to drives on your physical host machine if sharing of host drives is enabled in the settings for your virtual machine. You have to go into the settings and enable the host's drives you want exposed to the virtual machine.

Here is a detailed guide on setting up everything in Virtual PC except drive sharing: http://www.7tutorials.com/how-configure-windows-virtual-pc-settings
Here is what drive sharing looks like on Virtual PC (scroll to the bottom): http://www.sevenforums.com/virtualization/17172-virtual-pc-seeing-hosts-hdd-locally.html
This post shows a screen capture of drive sharing: http://blogs.msdn.com/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2009/11/04/restricting-shared-drives-under-windows-virtual-pc.aspx. Click on the screen capture to see a larger image. The point of the post really isn't drive sharing. It's really about using the subst command to assign a drive letter to a particular folder on the host and then sharing that drive letter with the virtual machine. The point is that you share driver letters with the virtual machine. The screen capture does show how drive letter sharing is configured.
