How to interpret CheckSUR.Log

I'm having problems updating to the latest service pack so I ran the System Update Readiness tool (Checksur.exe) as suggested at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366 and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958044That created a log file that explained the problems but I don't know what to do next. Any ideas ? Here it is:

Thanks for the reply Tim but the article you pointed to is far from complete. I managed to locate replacement files for most of the issues, but not all. After going around the houses a bit I downloaded the later version of the System Update Readiness tool and that resolved all be one problem as the following snippet from the end of the latest CheckSUR.log shows

Despite looking on another 32bit Vista Home Premium PC and on Google, I have not been able to locate the missing file anywhere.

According to this article you need to get the files from another healthy Windows 7 (looks to be 64 bit) machine (preferably the same patch level) You need the files named in checksur.log with names beginning wow64 and amd64 and with extension MUM, CAT and or MANIFEST (some in \winsxs\manifests\ may have no extension)
*.mum files are located in %windir%\servicing\packages\
*.manifest files are located in %windir%\winsxs\manifests\
Package*.cat files are located in %windir%\servicing\packages\
(I'm guessing these are all in the \winsxs\manifests\ folder)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee619779(v=ws.10).aspx
Put the MUM and CAT files here
%windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\servicing\packagesPut the MANIFEST files here
%windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\manifests\

Dave,
Thank you so so much for your help. I am curious though, since this is the only copy of windows 7 i have, do you know where I can get healthy .cat & .mum files?
If you could help me find some healthy files or at least point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it!!
Thanks again for your help!

Dave,
Could I have your e-mail address? I do not feel comfortable posting a link to my skydrive on a public forum. I could send it to you through e-mail and we could go from there.
I hope that's ok.
Thanks again so much for your help! Look forward to hearing from your soon.

Put all the files/folders here in %windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\manifests\ and rerun the update readiness tool.

Dave,
Thank you so much for helping me. I really do appreciate your patience and effort to help me get this solved.
I'm running windows 7 ultimate service pack 1 x64 bit version
Right now when I click on the link you provided, there is nothing in there. I'm assuming there is nothing there because you are waiting to hear back from me as to what version of 7, service pack and bit I'm running.
If you could please put the healthy files that I'm missing and you were talking about in the earlier posts in this google docs link I would really appreciate it.
Dave, you have been the greatest help and I cannot thank you enough!

Dave,
I click on the hyper- link and it shows the title of the folder as "manifest" but right in the middle it says " no items in this folder". Is there some special way for me to retrieve the files in this folder?
I've been looking all over Google docs for help on how to retrieve these file, but to no avail. I'm either missing something on my end or I don't know how to view and retrieve the files
If you want, please e-mail me at humility36@msn.com Once again, please forgive my ignorance
Thanks,

Dave,
I apologize for not getting back to you quicker. They've called for overtime where I work and I haven't had a chance to reply. Here's what I've done so far. I've been trying hard to figure this and I really thank you for the clean files. However, I did what you instructed and put everything in %windir%\Temp\CheckSUR\manifests and I re-ran the update readiness tool and still didn't work.
- I then followed these instructions that you posted here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee619779(v=ws.10).aspx
If you get a Payload File Missing message, then the binary required is not available. This means that the issue is not fixed.

-
Find out which payload files are missing by looking at checkSUR.log. Identify any line that have (f) that is not followed by (fix). From the previous example the three payload files that are not fixed are:
(f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 winload.exe x86_microsoft-windows-b..environment-windows_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_6701d52e8fdf8d45 (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 setbcdlocale.dll x86_microsoft-windows-b..environment-windows_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_6701d52e8fdf8d45 (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 admparse.dll x86_microsoft-windows-ie-adminkitmostfiles_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_abfb5fd109dad8b8 servicing_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_23ddbf36a8a961bc
-
Get the files required from other sources. The options available can be found in the “Options for obtaining files” section below.
Note
Ensure the binary you get from matches the directory name mentioned on checkSUR.log. For the above example, the directory name is x86_microsoft-windows-ie-adminkitmostfiles_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_abfb5fd109dad8b8 -
Paste the files onto the proper subdirectory under c:\windows\winsxs.
Important
Please only paste the files that are needed. Replacing additional files may lead the system into an unserviceable state. Before placing the files in the appropriate locations, you may need to grant yourself permissions to edit the folder’s contents; below is a quick guide on how to achieve this.
- At an elevated command prompt: takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
Tip
For example: takeown /f c:\windows\winsxs\ x86_microsoft-windows-ie-adminkitmostfiles_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_abfb5fd109dad8b8 - Next, to grant administrators full access to the file: icacls Path_And_File_Name /GRANT ADMINISTRATOR:F
Tip
For example: icacls c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-ie-adminkitmostfiles_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_abfb5fd109dad8b8 /grant administrators:F - To replace the file with a known good copy: Copy Path_And_File_Name_Of_Source_File Path_And_File_Name_Of_Destination
Tip
For example: copy c:\temp\admparse.dll c:\ windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-ie-adminkitmostfiles_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_abfb5fd109dad8b8\admparse.dll
- At an elevated command prompt: takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
- here's the screenshot:
. . . . .I don't know what I'm doing wrong?
If you have any suggestions, please let me know

DAVE!!,
After doing some digging it really bothered me that I got so far only to be blocked by my access being denied when I'm the administrator. So what I did was I went to the folders where I want to put the clean files, selected properties, went to permissions and gave myself full control, and clicked apply. In the process of getting full control, I still got the following message, BUT, when I copied and pasted all the files in the appropiate folders and re-ran the windows update. . . .IT SUCESSFULLY updated!!!
I do not have any more important updates and that's exactly what I want and need!
Thank you so so much for your time, education, and guidance. How can I give you more points to add to your status or communicate to a facilitator about just how impressed and grateful I've been with everything you have helped me work through?
I'll be sure to come here and send everyone I know here if they have any windows issues. Words cannot express my grattitude,
Very respectfully,
