    HI

I have a problem in sending Emails using Exchange  2007

one of the thing I change is the Login as in the MSExchangeTransport Service

I change this to be MyDomain\Administrator

I run the Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant

and I tell that I need to make the login permission back to the default

but . what is the password for the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService

    THanks

    Faris,

You need to open the Services administrative tool snap-in and open the properties on Microsoft Exchange Transport.  Go to the Log On tab, click on This Account and enter NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService, then delete any bullets that might appears in both password fields.  Stop and restart the service and you should be ok.

    Faris,

There is no password for the NetworkService account, so simply enter "NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService" and leave the password fields blank.

Hi and thanks for the reply

    I try it

I make a shortcut for a program and select Runas and use the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService and leave the password

and I got an error message stating that the user name or the password are incorrect

    Thanks

Don't worry about security, the Network Account has an autogenerated strong password and it will be filled automatically by the system.

It is a secure local account with just enough network permissions.
