Microsoft Adapter 6to4 Errors
A diagnostic program tells me that I have various errors for Microsoft Adapter 6to4 "tv_ConfigMgrError31"
Can you advise of any fix for this I have checked Windows Updates but that does not show any updates.

Hello Denis,
Thank you for posting!
Microsoft 6to4 Adapter is used for communication in mixed environment including both IPv4 and IPv6. I suspect that the issue may be related to the compatibility of the network adapter.
There are some suggestions for this issue:1. Please confirm the error via Device Manager. If Device Manager doesn’t show the error, please let me know what the diagnostic tools is and when it showed the prompt.
Start – Run – Type devmgmt.msc and click OK – in Device Manager, click View and select Show hidden devices – expend Network Adapters – check the status of 6TO4 adapter.2. Try to update the driver of your network adapter, then check whether the problem has been fixed.
3. Please confirm whether any other problem related to this issue exists, besides receiving that prompt.
4. If you haven’t deployed IPv6 network in your local network, you may disable 6TO4 adapter in Device Manager to avoid the error prompt.
If I misunderstood anything please just let me know. I am happy to be of further assistance. Thanks!

Lionel,
Thank you for your advice.
For your information also I am using Vista Home Premium.
I have checked the 6to4 adapters - there are 9 on them in the drop down menu.
All show the following error message:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."
I have tried selecting the check for solution option but nothing comes back other than "Could not load driver software"
The notice of a possible problem with the 6 to 4 adapter came from the Control Panel\Performance Information and Tools\Advanced Tools - Generate a System Health Report.
I did also try to download any updates from Adaptec I think it was but nothing positive came of that attempt either.
Hope this helps provide a resolution to this error report.
Hello Denis,
Thanks for feedback!
According to your description, this problem should be caused by network adapter that doesn’t support this component. You may contact the manufacturer of this device to confirm it.
Generally, this error won’t affect your system performance, if it did, please don’t hesitate to tell me the detail.
Just for your reference, there are two suggestions below:
1. If you haven’t deployed IPv6 in your network environment, you may disable 6to4 Adapter in Device Manager.
Right-click 6to4 Adapter and select Disable.2. In a few cases, the problem may occur if the registry was modified to disable the 6to4 Adapter. Please try to confirm it.
Start - Run – Type regedit – Click Continue – in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6, Select Parameters – Confirm whether there is a value named DisabledComponents in the right Window – If there is, double click the value and modify the value data to be 0 . – Click OK – Restart - check the value again. If the problem persists or I misunderstood anything, please just let me know!

Hi, I'm have the exact same problem.
When I got to Device Manager there is a Yellow Caution Alert next to my "Microsoft 6to4 Adapter".
When I select "Properties", I get this:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
I tried checking for a solution, and also to update drivers, but it seems my drivers are the most up-to-date.
Hello Chris,
Thank you for your post!
Because the problem you described is very similar to the original post in this thread, I think it may be caused by the same reason. Please refer to the suggestions I gave in the post above.
If I misunderstood anything about the issue, Please let me know. I’m happy to be of further assistance.Regards,

Hello,
I'm having a similar issue using Vista, with a few key differences.
First, background information. My ethernet port does not work. It is a motherboard issue, I'm out of my warranty and can't afford to pay for a new one. It has been the only thing that does not work on the motherboard. Wireless has been working fine for two years, until very recently.
My wireless connection recently lost the capability to detect wireless networks. It isn't the network itself, as my roommate can still connect without any issues. When I attempt to diagnose why windows cannot find any networks, I am told that there are no networks in range of my computer. I am about ten feet from my router.
Before I checked the device manager, I attempted a few things. I disabled the wireless connection, re-enabled and attempted to look for networks. Sometimes this would work in the past. It did not this time. I then checked the device manager, with the intention of uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the wireless card. I did this, was told that the driver had installed successfully, but still windows could not find any networks. I noticed two instances of the Microsoft 6to4 Adapter in the device manager, both with the exclamatory yellow triangles. I uninstalled one, thinking it would re-install, but it didn't. I scanned for hardware changes and nothing was found.
For the second instance of the 6to4 adapter, I had searched the internet for possible solutions and came across this forum. I attempted to update the driver, but as I can't connect to the internet at all, obviously nothing happened. I disabled it in device manager and checked to see if any networks could be found. Nothing still.
I checked to see if the registry was somehow modified to disable the 6to4 adapter. There was no value in the registry for DisableComponents. The values that were there are as follows:
Name - Type - Data
Default - REG_SZ - (value not set)
Dhcpv6DUID - REG_BINARY - 00 01 00 01 0d 36 d2 20 00 04 23 53 28 27
EnableICSIPv6 - REG_DWORD - 0x00000001 (1)
I double clicked EnableICSIPv6, here is that information: Value data = 1, Base = Hexadecimal
I did not change anything, as it was not specified in the threads above.
Later, I again tried to uninstalled and reinstall the second instance of the 6to4 adapter in device manager, but once again it did not reinstall after I had uninstalled it. In retrospect, I don't think I should have done this, as now there are no instances of the 6to4 adapter in device manager. I can't find a driver for it anywhere else on the internet either.
Finally, the last thing I've done was trying to do a winsock fix. I opened command prompt as administrator, entered the command netsh winsock reset, restarted. I then opened command prompt again, entered the command netsh int ip reset, and restarted. Again, nothing.
I also understand that there is a pretty good chance that my wireless card has simply stopped working. I realize I need to get a new machine, but that isn't really an option at this point. If there is anything you might be able to offer to help this situation I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks for taking the time to read and consider this.
Best,
Court Hillman
Hello Court,
Thank you for posting!
I understand your question like this:
Your Windows Vista-based computer recently can’t detect wireless network. At the same time, you find the similar problem in Device Manager as the original problem in this thread. Now the 2 items about 6to4 Adapters have been removed.
If I misunderstood anything, please let me know.
As I posted in this thread, 6to4 Adapter is sometimes not supported by NIC. Generally, it won’t affect the network connection if you haven’t IPv6 deployed. The Ethernet port doesn’t work in your computer, I think that may be the cause of 6to4 adapter problem. You may also refer to my replies about 6to4 Adapter in this thread.
To troubleshoot the wireless network issue, we'd recommend that you start up a new thread for it. We generally focus on one topic in one thread because in this way it will be better for other community members to participate in the discussion, and to search/find specific answers more efficiently in the future.
To narrow down the problem’s scope, please update all the drivers for devices, especially motherboard. Then refer to the following KB article for basic troubleshooting:
(KB831770) MSBBN: How to troubleshoot wireless connection problems
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;831770
If the problem still persists after driver updating, please let me know the following information points:
1. The models of the motherboard and wireless network adapter (if it’s an external one). Detailed information about your computer is preferred.
2. Was there any change to the network just before the problem occurred. (If you are using campus network or enterprise network, please contact the network administrator for that.)
3. Did you make any change to the configuration, or install any software or device just before the problem occurred.
Thanks!

SONY VIAO Hello,
Thanks for your post!
According to your description, please use the following steps to narrow down the problem’s scope:
1. Uninstall AlarmZone firewall. Restart the computer.
2. Open Device Manager. If you can’t see 6to4 Adapter, click View and select Show hidden devices.
3. If 6to4 Adapter appears without error mark, the problem may caused by the conflict between AlarmZone firewall and 6to4 Adatper.
Thanks!

- Hi thanks for help but rater than unstaling Zone alarm i unstalled 6to4 Adapter from device manager. Now i even cant find looks like it got lost. And even its not in hidden device.Looks like its out of my pc.
Thanks anyway. Hello,
Thanks for your feedback!
Generally, if you don’t have IPv6 deployed in the network environment, you can ignore the information about Microsoft 6to4 Adapter.
If you want to reinstall Microsoft 6to4 adapter, please use the following steps:
1. Click Start icon, select Control Panel.
2. In the top right corner, type Install drivers. Click to the search result Install drivers for old devices with Add Hardware wizard.
3. Click Next, in the next window, choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced).
4. Select Network Adapter, and click Next.
5. In manufacturer list, select Microsoft, then select Microsoft 6to4 Adapter in network adapter list.
6. Follow the wizard to finish the installation.
Hope it helps!

I have followed all the steps above and none of them helped.
It still states: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Then I clicked 'Check for solutions'
And still nothing....
However, I disabled the device and my laptop is still functioning just fine. Wish I understood what the adapter actually did lolHey Raver,
Thanks for your post!
As we talked above, 6to4 is a technology related to IPv6 and IPv4 communication. If you want to know more about that, please refer to the following document that focuses on it:

Im using Windows Vista. On 6To4 Adapter Properties on device status I read:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I try clicking on Check for solutions but after a few seconds it just automatically closes and nothing happens. I also have tried uninstalling but the same thing happens, after a few seconds the uninstalling window closes and the adapter is still installed. On the reliability and performance monitor I read This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I have also tried using my notebook's maker actualization program and the window's device manager driver updates and they both say Im updated. I have no problem at all with wireless connection but lan connections are really really slow and I cant access certain websites like msn.com and others, I cant login to windows live messenger either. I have Norton 360 and AVG Free Edition antiviruses, but I have disabled firewall. I tried going to regedit and my device doesnt seems to be disabled so I cant find a solution to this problem.
Hi,
Thanks for your post!
6to4 adapter issue won’t cause problems in non-IPv6 environment. Based on my experience, it won’t problems in visiting certain websites either.
For this case, I suggest to perform a clean boot, in order to exclude the factors brought by 3rd party applications and services. For detailed steps of clean boot, please refer to:
(KB929135) How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;929135Then, please check all the problems you mentioned in this post. If some of them work without issues, please follow the steps in the KB article above.
Low net-speed and trouble in visiting certain websites is a different issue from the one in this thread. In order to concentrate fully on this new issue we ask that you post it as a separate thread. That way each issue can receive full attention and will also make the thread more clear and consistent for others reference.
For your reference, please try to use nslookup command line to test the DNS service, for example:
Nslookup www.msn.com
Please bring the result to the new thread, we will be happy in assistance. Thanks!

I HAVE TRIED ALL SUGGESTIONS IN THIS STRECTH , REGUADING THE 6 TO 4 ADAPTER ISSUE. I AM USING VISTA PREMIUM. STILL TO NO ADO. THE ERROR PAGE IS STILL THERE. CAN THE FUCTION OF THIS DEVICE BE EXPLAINED IN A MORE OF A LAYMANS MATTER?
- Computer: Toshiba Satellite A215-S7422
OS: Vista Home Premium
Ram: 2GB
Processor: AMD Turion 64x2 Dual Core Processor TL-58
Problem: When I attempted to put the laptop into Sleep, the laptop got hung up and wouldn't go into sleep. So, I held the power button for a few seconds to power down manually. I turned it back on about 5 seconds later to make sure it was working okay.
Only to then discover my wireless internet no longer works. I look around and it turns out the 6to4 Adapter isn't starting up and is giving me Error Code 10. Driver is up to date and disabling it then reenabling it doesn't work. Wired ethernet allows me to access the net still, somehow.
EDIT: Update - wireless is working agian. 6TO4 adapter still in error state. I have no clue what's going on. Desktop (XP) worked fine this entire time, but is it possible it was a router issue? Can this problem affect the speed of a removable broadband card(Sprint)?
Is ther any down side to disabling the 624 adapter? I was having an Ipod nano issue, and I disabled the 624 and it solved my ipod issue.
Lionel, I have the same problem as Denis. Microsoft is able to find 6t04 to install however it will not install giving a #31 error message. If I disable 6t04 will that cause any operational problems?
Thank you for your help...much appreciated.

Dear Lionel,
I'm also facing the sampe problem with others. My built-in wireless device suddenly couldn't work. Everytime I switch WLAN button on, its status message (whether on or off) didn't appear, as if this device was disappeared. And after I check the device manager. I also found the same error message as others saw. My LAN connection works well, though. Do you have any suggestion Mr. Lionel ? Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Leo
- Hello, I'm new on this site. I'm getting the Blue screen of death.. I check my devices and it says the 4 to 6 adapter isn't working due to code 31.I went to hidden devices and saw that there was 2 versions of 4 to 6 adapters. I disabled one and it now has a black arrow on the icon. the other one says it's working. I recently installed a tascam US 122 usb audio/midi interface. Maybe I need to uninstall the Audio card that the Sony Vaio came with? I need to figure out why the blue screen of death keeps happening when I record my guitar on cubase. My computer freezes when I have the tascam plugged in and I log off. thanks for your time! I know, go to the tascam website.

I have the same error than Leo!
My adapter dont even turn on... ( i believe it isnt broke)
And the error of diver loading, of course. :/
I can connect trought the ethernet cable, but my wireless are down...
Same problem here - all of a sudden no wireless conections found.
Tells me the driver software is not installed, even after following the above steps - can only get internet access after plugging in.
IDEAS please!
i had the same problems but found out it the firewall blocking it i have alarm zone and i want in to advanced inthe firewall enable iv6 hope this helps
- hi,
i tried configuring my firewall but that didn't fix the problem...
...here are my computer specs just incase it helps.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
Mobo: Abit IP35 Pro
OS: 32bit Windows Vista Ultimate
RAM: 4GB
this is a desktop pc,not a laptop
i have the same problem as most people here in this forum. here is a screen shot of what my Device Manager shows...
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c368/nlvg6585/error.jpg
as you can see there is a caution sign next to four things including 6T04 Adapter
it shows that even without displaying the hidden devices...i tried doing a system restore but the restore failed to finish
what can be the problem...dont tell me that i have to reinstall vista I have the same problem, all of sudden my wireless network adaptor stopped working. I was thinking it could be some type of virus attacking my devices. Maybe it could be an issue with the manufacture, I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 what does everyone else have with this problem?
- I, obviously, have the same, common problem with my 6to4 adapter. I followed your steps, could also install the driver software successfully from my HD, but the problem remained when consulting the device manager. Unfortunately, since the 6to4 adapter stopped working, my network port, at the rear of my notebook, does not even show some blinking lights. As a result I am not able to establish any connection via cable, but only via my wireless card and cannot simply ignore the trouble with my adapters. Additionally I do not like exclamation marks in my device manager ;-)
Since there are numerous updates from time to time, I would suggest to give this a ticket and try to fix it by an update, because when searching the web I found that this seems to be a quite global problem (found hundreds of German forum threads about this topic).
Thanks for the help Lionel, hope you're able to find a solution! - And any solution to this matter i cannot get on the wireless internet using my laptop please send a me solution

Chris & Lionel,
I am having this problem too and have not solved it. I still need help. This is what I have tried already.
STEP 1: I located the driver on the web through Microsoft, downloaded it and tried to install. I got a message stating I do not have "enough system resources available to load the driver". I DO have enough resources.
STEP 2: I tried locating the driver on my PC and I received a pop-up message that said the driver was not found.
STEP 3: I disabled the device. Now everytime I power-up I get a message that I have an unknown device and the OS asks me if I want to locate the driver on the web (i,e. sending me back to STEP 1 above).
Please help!!!

Lionel Chen,
I have verified/ implemented all your recommendations and it continually takes me a few reboots (after the blue screens) to finally get logged in. The system continually installs new 6to4 adapters even if I disable them, so I am at the point where I go in weekly and delete them as they pile up. This problem does appear to occur more frequently when the laptop is docked. What is the solution to stop the auto install of the 6to4 adapters? Here is my system info:

- Hey, I'm also having problems with the 6to4 adapter. But, I believe it is affecting my internet. I haven't had the opportunity to try out my wireless since the problem started, so it's only affecting my etheret as far as I know for sure.
Problem is as follows and started Monday 06/16/08, which is also the same date I first noticed the 6to4 Adapter error:
My ethernet detects two different network connections and connects to both of them (although I'm only plugged into one modem, obviously). Oddly, it says that it is connected to both of them, and has local and internet access through both of them. But, Windows will not actually let me access the web because I am connected to two different networks at the same time. (according to "Diagnose and Repair"). One network is simply named 'Network' and the other is 'Unkown Network'. The only way I have found to fix the problem is to uninstall and reinstall the driver software for my ethernet adapter. It isn't a permanant fix, however, as the problem will resurface up to three times a day. (more often, it seems, after times of not using the internet but leaving a web browser open for a long period of time.)
I did install Avast Professional v4.8 about two months ago, but I uninstalled it and the problem remained. Also, I disabled Microsoft 6to4 Adpater only a few minutes ago so I haven't had the time to find out if this fixed the problem or not. I'm pretty sure that I have not installed any updates for my ethernet adapter or Windows between the time my etehrnet worked correctly and after.
Computer Specs are:
Toshiba Satellite A135
Windows Vista Home Premium
Realtek RTL8101E
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Justin hello should i give up on this issue to . is it affecting you while trying to view videos on the internet
- Hello Everyone,
The 6to4 adapter has to do with the upcoming change to the internet. The internet now uses IPv4 (IP Version 4). That is what is meant with the 4 in 6to4. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv4
Every device on the internet has an IP address. As more and more people/devices get on the internet IP addresses are running short. As of April 2008, predictions of exhaustion date of the unallocated IANA pool seem to converge to between February 2010 and May 2011.
IPv4 has 4,294,967,296 possible IP addreses.
The next step is IPv6 (IP Version 6) The 6 in 6to4
IPv6 supports more than 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible addresses!
The 6to4 adapter Allows to use your computer on both networks at the same time.....
Currently only a few major corporate networks IPv6.
For 99% of the poeple out there your aren't using IPv6. So the 6to4 adapter can be disabled.
Most of you are probably getting errors due to your NIC drivers. As IPv6 gets closer manufacturers will release newer drivers that will allow them to be used on IPv6 networks and the 6to4 adapter will then be able be installed correctly....
So as of now, Disable it and don't worry about it! It will not affect your internet experience!!!!
Hope this helps.... Hi,
so that's clear. But what to do if my internet doesn't work because of this error??
My laptop can find different wireless connections, but can't connect to mine.....
Thanks in advance, Sibbel
- I just read the one above me and had to comment. you made my comment quite simple, because i have the exact same things happening.I can log into windowslive messenger, but it stops running after about 5 minutes if i am lucky same with,Mozzilla FireFox It just vanishes or freezes up crash.....LOT'S!! WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS? I DON'T EVEN GET ONTO THE NET WHEN I FIRST START UP. \IT TRYS TO PUT THE DRIVER IN BUT CAN'T CONNECT TO INTERNET UNTIL ITS DONE SCREWEN UP,UNTIL IT SAYS ERROR BLAH BLAH BLAH....THEN I CONNECT AND YES I AM USEN LAN..SO IS THAT PART OF IT,TOO SLOW MAY-BE? HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS BUG!!!! AND WE CAN ALL USE OUR P.C'S PROPERLY AS WE SHOULD BE-ABLE TO...
- Disable the 6to4 adapter in the device manager.....
Instructions:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsvista/ht/disabledisvista.htm - Thanks guys got it and am not having any problems yet...thanks for the advice it was really quite easy if you go by exactly what he has written down instructions....awsome thanks again....
Hi,
Mine is a huawei usb plug for wireless broadband. I cannot connect to the internet because I was prompted that there is a network error and windows cannot fix it. Device manager, caution icon on 6to4. I was prompted the same error (code31). I disabled it but I still cannot connect, and was prompted the same issues. I uninstalled it. After which, I was able to connect. Why is that? Do I need to install it again? Also, does it affect the speed of my broadband connection? Thanks!
thanks lionel.
does this mean then that we can connect wirelessly without ipv6? or do we need both ipv4 and ipv6 to connect to wired and wireless, i assume ipv4 is for wired connection.
...and by the way, doesn't this explain too the "media disconnected" message when i run ipconfig? therefore i still cannot connect to my home wireless network
- Hi,
I also have such a problem. My system shows error code 31. When I tried to update the driver for 6to4, it says the best available driver is already installed. So, the warning is still there, which shows up in the device manager. I am not a techie, and I dont know what to do now.
Rgds
vs_jith - Hi Lionel,
I began with the same error as described above. One of my Microsoft 6To4 Adapters was malfuntioning (specifically, it was labeled as 6To4 Adapter #5).
To solve, I tried the update and that failed. So I disabled the device in Device manager. I followed that by Uninstalling the device in order to then reinstall it, but it has disappeared from view and I cannot locate it.
How can I reinstall this adapter?
(I am assuming it should work as I have 6 other functional 6To4 Adapters in Device Manager working properly)
Thank you,
G Hi Lionel
How do I know if I have IPv6 network deployed in my local network? In other words, how do I know it is safe to disable the 6to 4 adapter? Thanks.
Hi,
Are you sure that should be set to 0? I had read some articles or blogs from Microsoft to either set to ff or ffffff. Which one should be the one that needs to be set for disabling?
Thanks,
SN

thank you very much, branman. after wrestling with drivers and disabling zonealarm to no avail, ticking 'enable ipv6 networking' under firewall|advanced worked! (8- hi there, I would like you to know that I'm 100% sure that this link works but.... Whenever I connect to Microsoft, the connection falls because of the 6to4, can you send me the .doc file throughout my e-mail address? I would appreciate so if you did this, or maybe just an alternative download with the same link.my e-mail is blizzardcrystalizer@live.com
- A diagnostic program tells me that I have various errors for Microsft Adapter 6to4 "tv_ConfigMgrErr31"
A device has a configuration problem that prevents it from working properly.I've tried Windows Updates, and the device are up to date, but it still dosn't work.Is there somewhere else I can chek for a fix?
- I uninstalled all versions in the device list then reinstalled them. Now can only find 6to4 in hidden devices. Says it is working now. Why is it hidden if it is working? ie no error31 anymore thank god! This problem has been friving me crazy for 2 months, hope this fixed it.
- Is there a patch to fix this problem?
My device says that my adapter is there but cannot load. My cd rom is not running anymore

Thanks!
Sincerely,
Lionel Chen

C:\Users\sengodan sivakumar\AppData\Local\Temp\WER77DD.tmp.version.txt - I started using my new laptop with my 32" tv via a hdmi cable.
At first the sound got changed onto the tv's so that ok.
Then i thought i'd turned the laptop on without using the laptop's screen so I started the laptop and closed the screen as soon as the machine started.
This resulted in the tv displaying the main desktop but the sound on the laptop speakers!!
also the hdml sound and the sound card in the Playback Devices are replaced with a generic "windows sound" so i can't change the sound to hdmi !!
I don't whether this is part of the same problem but any info on a resolve would be a big help!
cheers - I managed to solve the problem myself by doing a system restore to jan 27.
Problem is either caused by an update from Zonealarm Pro or by a Windows update ( Hotfix xxxx ) - I tried all the steps described before.
I de-installed and re-installed the 6to4 adapter. It only appears if I select show hidden devices, but it looks ok in the list with out any error message. Yet, I cannot connect to the internet through my Ethernet card.
As I next step I disabled IPv6 in the connection settings and re-booted several time. Yet, I cannot connect to the internet and receive an error message that my ethernet card is not working. hello tech, friend!
try this one!
>get the updated driver for your wireless card first then save it to your computer
>uninstall the microsoft adapter 6to4 from the device manager and also the driver for the wireless card.
>install the updated driver for your wireless card then restart the computer
>try to connect to your network then try to open up internet explorer.
>if you can connect to your wireless network but you cannot go online, edit the starup items.
>type msconfig on the start search right above the start button.
>go to the services tab then put a check mark on "hide all microsoft services" then click on disable all
>go to the startup tab next to the services tab then click on disable all
>clik apply then click ok/close
>restart computer
hope this will help!!

★ - July 13, 2009 I tried the fix you suggested...didn't work. the following error message appeared: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. If you have a remedy for this annoying problem please send me an email. Thanks.
- we have a problem in our pc how do we reinstall or restore or sumting like dat our 6to4 adapter because it wont let us connect to our broadband
- Hey, I created a profile, just so I could thank you, Lionel! Nothing else worked, up until this point. To be even more specific, your fix didn't work immediately (changing the register value to zero.) However, afterward, in device manager, I disabled 6to4, and then re-enabled it, and this time it came up working perfectly, without the error! So, if anyone else reads this, and nothing else has worked, follow the above steps, and then disable/enable. It's fun, becoming a tech geek. Cheers, and thanks again LC!
~Kenny - Lionel, please be so kind as to help me! I can see the wonders you've done here and can only hope you treat my issue with an equal amount of diligence. Thank you before hand.
My issue is similar to many of those described here. But let me start from the beginning. I have a HP Pavilion dv6810us Entertainment Notebook PC, running on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. Well, until recently my Wifi had been working without major issues, the signal would drop from time to time, mostly due to the adapter (Atheros AR5009 WLAN), but nothing major... that is until recently
Today, the wifi dropped, tried reestablishing connection, but despite being infront of router, there would be no signal. I went to HP's Wireless Assistant, and there simply was no Wifi adapter detected, I checked Device Manager, and clicked Show Hidden, went to Network adapters, and again there was no adapter detected. Not only that, but multiple drivers showed a yellow exclamation mark claiming they were unable to load correctly.
It was then when I made the mistake of not disabling the drivers, the Microsoft 6to4 included, but uninstalling them, thinking it would do an automatic reinstallation after reboot. Of course, I think I was wrong, so was wondering if you can help me with the following issues:
-Is there a link to redownload the MS 6to4 adapter?
-Is it Windows problem that the Atheros adapter isn't detected continously (tried booting in Safe Mood to force machine more thorough and carefully load drivers, in Device Manager, it detected the Atheros netcard, but then it dropped it in Normal mode)?
Thank you for your help. - Hello!
I'm having a problem with my Internet..
Always when I open my computer it shows that I should have internet but when I open any website it says that can't connect.. no internet connection etc..
And when i try to fix it it says ''Can't find the primer dns-server or something like that..
I dont really know how to solve this problem I tried in many ways.
I know it's a simple problem I think..
And my 4to6 adapter says that it's not working correctly tho..
And i have updated it many times.. and shutting it etc.. nothing helped me..
So if you have a solution to my problem please, let me hear :)
Only 14 years now.
