QuestionAfter upgrade can't run Office 2003

    I purchased Vista Ultimate Upgrade.

I upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Vista Ultimate and now I get an error when running any office 2003 program. The error is "Microsoft Office *** has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." (where *** is the office application, like Word)

If I turn off UAC, all office programs work fine. If I then turn UAC back on, no Office 2003 program will work.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 Pro (with UAC on and off). I ran a repair of Office 2003. I set folder permissions on the Microsoft Office folder to allow my login full rights. If I right-click on Winword.exe and set it to run as administrator, it works fine although UAC pops up and asks me if I want to continue (as it should). I added my login name to the registry keys for Office. After trying each of these items, I set them back to the previous state. Nothing seems to work, except turning off UAC and I would rather not leave this off.

Any ideas as to what else to try?

I have this same problem running Office Pro 2007.  It only occured after upgrading of office 2007 sp1.  Funny thing is Microsoft doesn't seem to want to help anyone with this problem.  I know many people have it too.  It would be nice for Microsoft to just get on the ball and fix this one.  To think i have to have UAC turned off just to run a Microsoft app is rediculous.  FIX IT!
